Happy Summer from Hilltop High

Summer is here!

We would like to congratulate all of our students on your hard work and dedication. Your persistence and perseverance has really paid off. You have had to endure a difficult school year and now you are done. We are so proud of you all! Congratulations to the graduating Class of 2021. We have done our best to celebrate our graduates collectively, taking into consideration the guidelines by the Alberta Government. We wish all of our grads a happy and successful future ahead.

With the end of the year also comes some staffing changes for the 2021 - 2022 school year and we want to take this opportunity to send our well wishes to those who are leaving us next year. Bruce Laboucane served within the maintenance department for NGPS for nearly 20 years; it is a bittersweet moment as we congratulate him on his retirement. Sadly, we must also say farewell to teachers, Mr. Parish, Miss. Yanew and Miss. Smith and Educational Assistants Ms. Dalpe, Ms. Dewitz and Mrs. Osmond. We would like to wish them all the best in their future endeavours and are grateful for their contributions to our school community. Once a Charger, always a Charger!

We would like to extend warm welcomes to the following new staff members; Ms. Beth Bissonnette will be joining the English Department. Mr. Sebastian Smith joins the Math, Science and French department. Mr. Paul Marinus will be teaching Mechanics. As well, Ms. Petra Lewis will be joining Gateway Academy as a full-time Math and Science teacher. We welcome you all to the Hilltop family.

Thank you to our school community, NGPS, teachers, support staff and parents for your continued support while we navigated these trying times. Enjoy the sunshine and warm weather coming your way. Enjoy the change of pace from the regular school year and a break from your screen time. We did it! It’s done! It’s over, and here we are together, standing Charger strong. Stay well and take care.

First day back for students will be Wednesday, September 1 (grade 9 only) and

Thursday, September 2nd (all grades).
